DATELINE: May 23, 2004 - NEW YORK, NY - Project Deranged?

WWHD brings you yet another report about musician shenanigans...a story of idiotic political proportions...

P Diddy wants to host town hall-style presidential debate on MTV, between Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. John Kerry and incumbent Republican candidate, President George W. Bush. The show, said to hopefully air sometime this summer, is called 'Project Change". A Kerry spokesperson said Senator Kerry would debate Bush "anytime," while Bush's spokesman said he was looking forward to a "robust debate" with Kerry. Think it'll happen? Well P. Diddy remains ever hopeful. His plans? Combs hopes "...to pull the rug out from under them - they need to work.", referring to the two main candidates. His intent for this show would be to gain the highest number of youth and minorities register to vote in America's history. "I'm going to make Kerry and Bush squirm." Combs' plans as part of the show is to have several different actors and musicians come on and challenge John Kerry and George W. Bush to answer a more aggressive line of questioning from "Real people off the streets," who, Combs says he is "Asking them to hold their vote hostage until these candidates answer questions in real terms that people can understand."

I shudder to think about the whole thing, but I can understand some of where Mr. Combs is coming from, as far as the facet of 'real people's' questiions being asked. On the other hand, I don't think the likes of whom P. Diddy attracts and who relate to him are able to truly grasp this: Things that young people and minorities ask about, and demand from a president are usually not issues the president is in control of, such as the job market, the economy, etc. Those things are affected from lower points of government, on up I also hope that the MTV audience (which MTV and Combs are trying to get out at the polls) realize that just because a candidate makes promises of changing/improving issues which might appeal more to their lifestyle and culture, it does not mean that he is the right candidate for you. This is just a shady means of getting the most votes. We need voters like these to understand and appreciate that a more middle of the road or perhaps a more conservative outlook than they currently have, is beneficial to not just our country, but to individuals and their families and their communities. For example, the very liberal doings that are changing the legality of same-sex marriage is tearing slowly at the fabric of the holy and lawful institution that marriage is. God never intended for this and our country was not founded on such beliefs.

We here at WWHD are feeling something tell us if this does go down, MTV will put it's liberal stamp all over it anyway and make it reek of lefty goodness. If nothing else, perhaps Kerry will take huge advantage of the scene.

We can see it now...

AP Headlines - Kerry Wins by Landslide, Largely due to Popularity of MTV Presidential Debate Show
This year's Presidential election had the largest young people and minority voter turnout in the history of the USA, and newly-elected President Kerry has MTV's audience to thank! give props to. In hopes of topping out the minority vote margin over Bush, Senator Kerry bumped Harlem, South Central, Chicago, Miami, St. Louis and Detroit to the top of his campaign tour stops list and spent the next 5 months emphasizing his platforms there. Upon his return from these locales, he felt more cultured and understanding of the issues affecting the MTV audience, and his appearance on the Presidential Debate show hosted by P. Diddy proves it. When asked why we should vote for him, Kerry proclaimed " 'Cause if ya do, I'm bout ta give it ta ya shraight ...fo shizzle mah nizzles!", which he then repeats in Spanish, Hmong, Tree-Huggerspeak, and GLBT. The studio audience and national home viewers go apeshit. Immediately, for days afterward, staggering numbers of these kids line up for blocks around voter precincts to register.

What do YOU think will happen on the show? Post your feedback below.
